What to do in Cape Town: a complete guide to the most beautiful areas
Cape Town has a lot to offer and you will love exploring the diversity of all these neighborhoods ! You will be enjoying the beach and the mountain passing through vibrant streets of colors and shops in just one day!
A day to visit the districts of Cape Town: Bo Kaap, Sea Point, Green Point and Waterfront
The easiest way to visit all Cape Town neighborhoods in one day is to get on one of the red tourist buses. So start the day with a ride on long street in the city bowl and take your ticket for the red bus on this street full of local shops. The Cape Town city tour to Table Mountain circuit will first take you to Bo-Kaap, the colorful part of the city; then you can choose to get off at the cable car stop Table Mountain or book the spectacular view at the top of the Table for the sunset (it's best to buy tickets online to avoid the queue); you will then go to Camps Bay, one of the most beautiful beaches in South Africa, then in the districts of Sea point as well as Green dot to finally arrive at the port of Waterfront.
Tip: if you want to discover Cape Town accompanied by a local, we recommend private tours offered by Civitatis. Simply select a language (top right on the site) to book a guide who speaks your native language. It's more expensive than the tourist bus but it's much better.
Book this tourCape Town and these magnificent sunsets to see from Camps Bay or Table Mountain
In the evening, do not miss the most beautiful sunset in Africa ... Enjoy it in a bar Camps Bay or, like us, admire the view from the heights of Cape Town. Indeed, the best is to be at the top of Table Mountain ! The tour would not be finished if you did not linger after dinner in the lively bars of Kloof Street. We do not recommend it but if you go on Long Street in the evening, beware of pickpockets and bad meetings.
Sleep in a central area of Cape Town in a quality B&B
To stay in Cape Town, The Villa Rosa is an excellent guest house located in Sea Point – an area close to the city center and the sea. It is perfect for being both close to the restaurants/bars of Kloof street and not far from the beaches of Camps Bay and Clifton. Plus, you'll be right next to the famous seaside promenade and Mojo Market.

Our tips for a successful trip:
- Book your flight in advance to take advantage of the best prices
Airline ticket prices are cheaper when booked 6 to 3 months in advance. To be sure of getting the best price, we recommend using a flight comparator such as Skyscanner.
- Book your accommodation before departure to have access to the best offers
You will always find a room at the last minute, but the best located accommodations are necessarily those that are always full. That's why it's best to book your accommodations as soon as possible. We recommend going through Agoda which offers the best prices. In addition, this site allows you to be easily reimbursed in the event of cancellation.
- Skip the line to visit the most popular attractions
By booking your excursions in advance on Civitatis, you do not queue on site to get your tickets. Less time waiting = more time enjoying your vacation! Plus, their guided tours ensure you have a knowledgeable guide who speaks your language.
- Use a comparator to find a rental car at the lowest price
Save yourself hours of research with rentalcar.com ou discovercars.com. These comparators are the best for finding rental cars at the lowest prices.
- Don't leave without travel insurance
For us, it is unimaginable to leave without travel insurance. We recommend the one proposed by AXIS. This is the best guaranteed way to leave with peace of mind. However, consider taking out additional specialized insurance for activities not covered (such as skiing or scuba diving).
