Top 10 Best Hotels in Plettenberg Bay, South Africa

Plettenberg Bay is THE seaside town on the Garden Route. She moves a lot and offers to many activities : canoeing in its freshwater lagoon, surfing along its magnificent beaches, canyoning in its surrounding mountains, hiking in Robberg National Park (our favorite park of the whole garden route) and there is even a monkey park which will delight children! In the evening, we highly recommend going to see the phosphorescent plankton in the lagoon and having a drink at sunset at Emily Moon's bar! In short... Whether it's a day of relaxation, sport or family, there's something for all ages and for all tastes! To explore this region of South Africa, we recommend that you stay in one of the Best hotels in Plettenberg Bay listed below.

The good plan at Plettenberg Bay is the youth hostel Hostel for Backpackers which is served by the Baz Bus. It is located right in the city center: you cannot be closer to the shopping streets, bars and restaurants and you have the seafront just 3 minutes walk away. For a very small price, you have exceptionally well-kept and clean accommodation for a backpacker. We really liked the atmosphere that the owners bring to the place. They have barbecues for travelers every night and you just bring your meat back and they cook it for you. Friendly encounters guaranteed! We also enjoyed the hammocks in the garden and the inexpensive bar at the hostel. Plus they organize lots of activities for you and gave us great tips for exploring the area. We do not hesitate to say that for us, it is the best hostel in Plettenberg Bay on the Garden Route.

Namely : They also offer double rooms with bathroom so if you want to stay in the center of Plettenberg Bay at the best price and if the youthful and sometimes noisy atmosphere of a hostel does not displease you then we advise you to book here.

The + : they have secure parking.

Consulting : Next door, there is a French bakery which makes very good croissants for breakfast and excellent baguettes which we took to make sandwiches during our hike at Robberg National Park.

Our tips for a successful trip:

  • Book your flight in advance to take advantage of the best prices

Airline ticket prices are cheaper when booked 6 to 3 months in advance. To be sure of getting the best price, we recommend using a flight comparator such as Skyscanner.

  • Book your accommodation before departure to have access to the best offers

You will always find a room at the last minute, but the best located accommodations are necessarily those that are always full. That's why it's best to book your accommodations as soon as possible. We recommend going through Agoda which offers the best prices. In addition, this site allows you to be easily reimbursed in the event of cancellation.

  • Skip the line to visit the most popular attractions

By booking your excursions in advance on Civitatis, you do not queue on site to get your tickets. Less time waiting = more time enjoying your vacation! Plus, their guided tours ensure you have a knowledgeable guide who speaks your language.

  • Use a comparator to find a rental car at the lowest price

Save yourself hours of research with rentalcar.com ou discovercars.com. These comparators are the best for finding rental cars at the lowest prices.

  • Don't leave without travel insurance

For us, it is unimaginable to leave without travel insurance. We recommend the one proposed by AXIS. This is the best guaranteed way to leave with peace of mind. However, consider taking out additional specialized insurance for activities not covered (such as skiing or scuba diving).
